This is an excellent site about an hour and a half drive from the Hook of Holland.

We travelled over on the HSS from Harwich, which is an experience in itself but not really subject matter for site reports.
Pitches are spacious and set out in separately hedged small fields. On the occasion of our visit there had been a lot of rain and the site staff were towing caravans on and off with their tractor to try and stop the ground deteriorating further. The Dutch are extremely friendly and speak excellent English. Reception staff goes out of their way to help with any enquiries at all.
The site facilities are all excellent. The toilet block is spotless and this is the first one I have ever seen with heated floor! It is probably necessary, as the site is
open all year. Site facilities include an excellent restaurant, take away, bar, laundry, shop, pool, solarium, tennis courts, fishing lake, bike hire.

We visited in April in order to catch the Bulb fields in full bloom. The site is convenient for Leiden, The Keukenhof Gardens, Rijnsburg, and the windmills at Katwijk. There are several beaches close by as well.

A day in Amsterdam is also a must but do NOT take the car. Take the bus to Leiden and then the train. It is so much more convenient. Once in Amsterdam get a ticket from the tourist offices outside the station which allows you get on and off the buses as much as you like.

This site is one we will go back to. One final tip. There is a caravan dealers about twenty minutes from the site with one of the best accessory shops I have ever seen. Prices are substantially lower than UK [i.e. la Fuma chairs £58 instead of £125] but they do not take credit cards! You will need cash from the bank down the road. A lot of Holland is like this.

Directions: Leave the A44 Motorway at junction 7 for Oegstees/Rijnsburg and follow ANWB campsite signs [white & blue]
